Cabo Rojo Lighthouse
Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico
The Cabo Rojo Lighthouse or the Morrillos Lighthouse is an historical place of Puerto Rico, built in the 1882 by the Spaniards and it’s still in operation. In order to arrive at the lighthouse you have to drive through a non-paved street for approximately 15 minutes. Throughout the road you will enjoy the Natural Reserve of Cabo Rojo, its mangroves, salt mines and wild life. Once you arrive at the parking of the lighthouse you need to hike a hill for around 10 minutes. Once above, you will enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean Sea and the contrast between the Natural Reserve and the lighthouse, and the immense limestone cliff at the sea. You will be able to enjoy the nature by hiking through the trails in the area. Some of these trails end up at Sucia Beach. We recommend using insect repellent.
