Centro Histórico Turístico Cibuco

The Centro Histórico Turístico Cibuco in Corozal is the perfect place for a day trip to the center of the island with the family or as a tour. It has approximately 50 acres dedicated to preserve our culture of the 20th century.
This property belonged to Genaro Bou Galí and his wife Doña Carmen Lopez, who cultivated sugar cane, pineapple and created melao cibuco. The property, which was built in 1936, was named in honor of their only daughter, Aurora.
This trip from San Juan lasts approximately 45 minutes. Once there a guide willl be assigned to the group and he will give you a tour throughout the facilities. He will show you:
- 1) Aurora House Museum – a structure from the 1940
- 2) Room of the history of the sugar - with different types from trapiche, you can also taste the melao
- 3) Audio-visual room
- 4) Petroglyphs Area
- 5) Artisan trail
- 6) Artificial lake with pedal boats
- 7) Ecological trail
- 8) Monument area
- 9) Swings for children
The entrance has a fee of $5 for people between 13 to 65 years. All the others pay $3. At the entrance to the center there is a restaurant which ha been recommended as very good. Plan on spending from 2 to 3 hours for this attraction.
