The Cruceta Del Vigía And Jardín Japonés

La Cruceta del Vigía and the Japanese Garden are two spectacular tourist attractions that with Castillo Serallés makes the touristic complex, Patron del Castillo Serallés. In 1984 the municipality of Ponce opened La Cruceta del Vigía, a concrete cross 100 feet high by 70 feet wide. Once at the top of the structure, you will enjoy a beautiful view towards the south of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Sea. At the base of the cross is a small shop with snacks.

Right next to the concert cross, there is another one made of wood, this is a replica of the original cross dating from the 19th century. When it was used as a lookout point to alert the village from possible pirate attacks or the arrival of commercial ships.

In the same facilities is the Japanese Garden, a beautiful area decorated with trees, bonsai trees, ponds with gold fish and the peculiar Japanese bridges.
