Esperanza Beach is located in one of the most visited areas of Vieques, a waterfront promenade called El Malecón, colorful fishermen’s boats and sailboats embellish this beach. The water is crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling, kayaking and swimming. With a little luck you will see sea turtles. There are people that enjoy camping there, but it doesn’t have restrooms. In front of the beach you will find restaurants, beach utilities, stores and businesses that rent aquatic equipment. Just from the shore you will see a small island known as Cayo Afuera. It is accessible by kayak or by good swimmers. From this beach the sunset is spectacular.
